The CityMonks and the Denkfabrik (ThinkTank) of HOPE Germany are pleased to invite you to their next season
“The summer is getting hot 2009” is a co-production between Denkfabrik (ThinkTank) and CityMonks. Denkfabrik prepares your daily Christian walk for the tough reality. The CityMonks put into practice what you might have learned in the Denkfabrik; on the street and not only in German cities.
Denkfabrik helps you to discover why you think in a particular way. Are you able to justify what you think and how you can give arguments for others to think like you. And – of course – why we consider the Christian believe the most alternative discipline of human thinking.
Denkfabrik offers with “The summer is getting hot 2009” two different crash courses: the “basic version XL” and the “extended version XXL”. In both courses 12 participants and at least 2 trainers are going to work together for a whole week. Information will be given in a precise way and they will suit your practical experiences. Exercises help you to apply the new information in such a way that you can use them in every day situations. Your trainers’ and colleagues’ comments may help you to develop further in certain areas. At the end of each course your abilities will have grown in the following areas:
• Deferent and self-confident treatment of your and other people’s experiences • More sensitive understanding for other people’s opinion; by asking precisely you will find out who they really are • Logical stating of one’s own opinion (in this process weaknesses in your argumentation will be exposed) • Better understanding for group dynamics and communication strategies in order not to exclude other people, nor to get excluded by others • confessing in a self-critical way one’s lack of knowledge, and creative opportunities to close those gaps • translating biblical relations into pictures that can be easily understood, into practical advices, into firm challenges to act • more self-assured appearance in front of smaller and bigger groups through training of rhetoric skills, work on body language, and character counselling
Moreover these courses enable you to get to know the life behind “Hope Germany”. How are churches built up? How do you organise alternative public events? How can discipleship look like when your timetable is tightly packed? Two sessions in the late morning and one again in the early evening give you enough time for homework, beach volleyball, and fun; besides all the practical activities, of course.
